Marjorie Cook

Marjorie Cook Wycliffe Bible Translators, Washington D.C.

Marjorie has been with Wycliffe Bible Translators for 49 years; 33 years in the Philippines and 14 years in Washington, D.C. at the International Relations office of SIL International (Summer Institute of Linguistics), a key partner with Wycliffe Bible Translators.

In the Philippines, Marjorie served as head librarian for three libraries at three workshop centers. Currently, she is the assistant to the director and continues to archive older paper correspondence. Marjorie primarily works part-time. Once again the office location moved, same building, same floor but four people moved into one office to cut expenses. The archiving boxes are now stacked in her living room to work on when she doesn’t need to go into the office.

Last year’s Joy to the World gifts were used for a scanner, Talking Bibles from Crossworld for the Yanomami people of Brazil, support to John and Andrea Dolan who are working in Bulgaria alongside the Roma people, and for dental expenses.
