The church is messy; there is no denying that. But the church is also called, chosen, and precious to God. In 1 Peter 2:4-10, the identity and purpose of the church come into clear focus, reminding us of who we are — a beautiful community of redeemed sinners who proclaim the excellencies of Jesus to the world.
