“Contemplation” Art Exhibit Call for Artists

We’re excited to announce we are accepting submissions for the next group art showcase in the PBC Gallery! Submissions are due September 10.

“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

The Christian walk is filled with big questions: “Does life have a purpose? Why does God allow suffering? Why aren’t Christians more like Jesus?” Join us, along with hundreds of churches across the Bay Area, as we Explore God and address nine of the biggest questions of faith. As we embark on this journey, we’d love to see your interpretation of these questions, witness the conversations that you have with God around these topics, and/or the ways you have been personally exploring God.

We encourage you to submit any medium of art (e.g., abstract paintings, film photography, Scripture lettering, etc.) that would fit this theme of “contemplation.” It can be artwork from a season of introspection, a period of uncertainty, or a recent reflection on the sermon series, “Witness: The Sermons of Acts.” It can even be something created during your own personal quiet time—whatever you feel comfortable sharing about your own walk with God and relationship with Jesus Christ.

EXHIBITION GUIDELINES
– Show dates: Sept 24 – Dec (TBD)
– Artists can submit up to 3 works of art (paintings, photographs, fiber art, calligraphy, etc.) to be considered for the exhibition. The artwork will be chosen based on how it fits with the theme, the quality of the work, and the amount of submissions we receive. We’d love to be able to accept all submissions but unfortunately we may not have the space to do so.
– All 2D work must be ready to hang, either framed or on canvas. We hope to have an Opening Event for the start of the art show, where artists can share about the inspiration behind their art and members of the church can meet them. We’ll be in touch with more details about that soon.
