The Book of Lamentations invites us into a unique experience: communal expression of grief over a shared tragedy. Verse after verse expresses the pain of suffering, death, and destruction that God’s people endured. And yet in the center of the book lies one of the greatest declarations of truth about God: Great is your faithfulness. Because of this, the author concludes “There may yet be hope.”

Audio, video, and text versions of each message in the series is available weekly in the Sermon Library.

Race and justice can be uncomfortable topics to talk about. However, our leadership team at PBC believe that we, as the church, have a responsibility to play a role in addressing racism and injustice in our society. Our goal is to provide ways for us as a church body to get more informed and start conversations about these complex issues.

February 17 – March  | 12-12:30 PM
On Zoom

Every Wednesday, from February 17 through March 31, we will gather together at noon on Zoom for Lenten prayer. Join us as we turn our thoughts toward God through moments of praise, lament, and hope. We will reflect on Scripture and have a time of open prayer.

April 2021

This documentary film follows the survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Riot in their quest for justice. More than 300 people were killed when a mob attacked and burned to the ground an affluent African-American district of Tulsa. There will be a moderated dialogue with director Reggie Turner.

Are you feeling isolated during this time? We’d love to connect you to our community. All of our ministries continue to offer weekly online connecting points that can help PBCers and our newcomers get plugged in. We also have new small groups that are forming for connection, prayer, and fellowship. Fill out a Connect Card and we’ll follow up. We are honored to pray for you if you need prayer. Submit a Prayer Request for our pastors and elders to pray for you.

Dan Westman - November 22, 2020

Lean Into The Fire

We spend much of our lives trying to avoid or alleviate the pain that we experience. However, the key to flourishing is not to run from our pain. Rather, as followers of Jesus, we must expect to suffer and learn to lean into our suffering. When we do, we will learn that suffering is not our enemy, but a tool for growth and an opportunity to glorify God.
