One Necessary Thing Scott Grant return us to the book of Judges (April 15 through June 10).
Judges features some of the most compelling stories in the canon. Mostly, they are stories of decline. But stories of decline are stories of need, and stories of need are what we need. We need to know our need—our desperate need for God, our desperate need for Christ. The Book of Judges helps us do that. Jesus extolled Mary, who was seated at his feet in order to learn from him, for preferring the one necessary thing (Luke 10:42). The book of Judges illustrates the need for a king. The king we need is Christ. We don’t need many things; we need one thing: Christ.

Upcoming Series

Body Life Steve Zeisler returns us to the book of 1 Corinthians (June 17 through July 22). We shall move selectively through the final ten chapters of the letter, observing Paul's discussion of 'body' (Greek: soma) in its various meanings. First, we'll consider the use of the word 'soma' to describe our ordinary human body (especially its sexual capacity). Further on, 'soma' signifies the bread of the communion table. And shortly after, the apostle declares of the church community, "you are the body of Christ." Finally in chapter 15 we read, "the body...is raised imperishable."
