"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." Jeremiah 33:3

Our Soul Tending days invite you to replenish your tired soul with life giving connection with God.  We will use scriptural teaching, silence, contemplation, art, music, and spiritual exercises that help us to focus on, and deepen our relationship with Christ. Please bring a journal and Bible with you to every retreat day as we will always have quiet reflective times planned into our morning.

Kim Fenech will be leading our Soul Tending Retreats this season.  Kim is a long time PBC friend, recently retired Children's pastor, and currently studying for her certificate in Spiritual Direction.  Kim has been studying the Spiritual Disciplines for many years, and is an experienced Bible study leader as well.  We are so fortunate to have her come back to PBC to lead us in these restful retreats.

Kim is married to Bob Fenech,  has four grown children, and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.

When? Saturdays 10:00am to 2:00pm

Where?  Fireside Room at PBC

  • Beauty for Ashes                 November 19, 2011

Our topic will be forgiveness. How is it possible? How do we face our hurt, name our need, and make space for sacred pain? This topic will not be exhausted at this retreat but hopefully it will help us engage with our hearts and our resistance to forgive.

  • Shaped by the Word          January 21, 2012

Do you shape the Word or does the Word shape you? The transforming power of God is available to every Christian, but the transformed life does not happen by accident or by chance. Christ models for us the things he did to stay in close contact with the Father.  We will engage in some of the practices that kept Jesus in contact with God and His will.

  • Heaven                                  February 18, 2012

We often hear, "We can't begin to imagine what heaven will be like." In this quiet retreat we will reflect on some of the Biblical passages that speak about what heaven will be like; they may surprise you, delight you, and change how you live today.

  • Spiritual Warfare                 April 28 , 2012

"Come away with me and I will give you rest" is what Jesus invites us to do and what this retreat is about. This invitation of Jesus sounds very different than doing "spiritual battle", but in reality coming away with Jesus and resting in him is what is needed to resist worldly values, personal sin, and even the evil one. The battle is on, but we are more than conquerors in Christ.
