Slide/Sound Technician

2.       What are the duties?

This leader will coordinate with the Worship Leader to provide a visually and audibly engaging worship experience.  He/she will learn and operate the sound board on Sunday mornings and during mid-week practices.  This leader will also assemble the song list and create worship slides to enable the high school students to sing along with the worship band.

3.       What’s unique about the person in this position?

The slide/sound technician should know or be willing to learn how to operate the sound board and Powerpoint (or similar program).  It helps to have a good musical ear and an eye that can create visually appealing slides.  This person should also be a good communicator and will work hand-in-hand with the Worship Leader. 

4.       What value does this position contribute to the mission of the organization?

Music is the life-blood of many teens, but without good sound, even the best band will not provide and engaging experience.  The sound technician enables the band to sound its best so that they can focus on leading worship and not on how they sound.  The slide technician invites the entire high school ministry by providing the words to the songs and perhaps a visually evocative background.

5.       Who is the target audience?

Both the slide and sound technicians are attempting to create a visual and audio atmosphere that will help high school students to engage in worship.
