Every summer here at PBC, we are honored by the presence of college students who have dedicated their break from school to ministry within our body. This year, we are offering this opportunity to any student who graduated from high school between 2004 and 2008 with the desire to serve God during the summer months. If this describes you, we invite you into this service with the hope that your time with us will strengthen your relationship with God and give you a rich experience in the following areas:

Community

As an SLI participant, you will share rich fellowship with other students in the program. We place a high priority on enabling you to build lasting relationships with one another. We will guide you through writing and sharing your life stories, provide many times for prayer and sharing, and, of course, plan numerous social activities.

Training

The weekly schedule includes an informal meeting/class each week, taught and led by a pastor. Our focus in these times of instruction will be on scriptural training, approaching the issues of life and ministry from a biblical perspective.

In addition, each SLI intern will be assigned to a particular ministry at PBC (children, youth, college, music, etc). You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in leadership, organization, teaching, and other aspects of ministry while working under, observing, and learning from veterans in church ministry.

Mentoring

Every SLI participant will be matched with a mentor from among our pastoral staff. Your weekly meetings with your mentor are a wonderful opportunity to learn from someone experienced in life with God and in ministry, talk through issues in your life, and solicit advice regarding your future direction.
