Waiting in Peace for Christ

Colossians contains some of the most detailed theology of the person of Christ, exalting Him as pre-eminent in creation and redemption of the world. After describing this to the Colossians, Paul reminds them that they have participated in this redemption. The overall result is peace. So much waiting in our world is full of anxiety, frustration, and impatience. During advent, however, we learn to wait for God with peace. Because our faith in Christ brings us peace with God, we can wait patiently but expectantly for his coming.
