Jesus is followed by a crowd that is impressed with miracles, but unwilling to learn the truth they point to. In an out-of-the-way place, the disciples are directed to do the impossible (feed a multitude) before they participate in a miracle. As with the wedding in Cana, Jesus creates an abundance from a meager offering. His love and power are again in view.
