Jesus' death on the cross ended a season of history. With his death, a major part of God's plan to redeem his creation was complete. As we reflect on the idea of completion, we gain new perspective into how God works to bring to completion all of his purposes. We are not left with unfinished efforts by God. This allows us to rest in the finished work of Christ on the cross. Christ completed everything that was necessary to redeem his people. This finality comforts us and reminds us of our own need for God instead of striving to complete everything ourselves.
