After describing how Christ transforms relationships within the Christian community, the Christian household is now addressed. Instructions are give to all the members of the New Testament household: wives, husbands, children, parents, slaves, and masters. Each is given a high standard of treatment toward their counterpart. However, the overall emphasis is the presence of Christ in the center each pair of relationships. In fact, each relationship within the household models some aspect of relationship with Christ and helps that member know Christ in a deeper way.
