It's good you brought 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 as the text of your sermon. It is about applications, not so much on implications, but it's a good start. I wonder if this is a good forum to discuss other point of views?
Thanks,

Eng, sure - I think this is a fine place to discuss other ideas. What did you have in mind?

Hi Paul,
Actually, I agree with your message in general i.e. if we are being misunderstood, we should be misunderstood on the side of love. However, in my opinion, in general, we are already living very much like non-Christians. Here are some examples: how we spend our Sunday afternoons watching football or going hiking/shopping, what/how we decide to buy houses, cars or tvs, what careers/jobs to choose and the path it leads over time (mostly up), where to go for vacations, restaurants, or even schools. Of course, we ask Jesus or the Holy Spirit :) If the outcomes are mostly the same as non-Christians... but it seems to me following 1 Cor 9:19 would have a different outcome, in general. And it will be costly.
Anyhow, I am glad there is this website where people from PBC congregation or outside can share their thoughts, seek the truth and walk alongside one another(if possible).
I hope others will also contribute, instead of just becoming a passive recipient of pastors on the pulpit.
Thanks for your response :)

Hey Paul, I really liked this message you gave. I thought it was very challenging, because you're pointing us to simply love people - no footnotes, no if/ands/orbuts. The takeaway that I've applied in my life is for me to try focusing more on BEING CHRIST by loving people (period). I think that is a good exercise, that in any given moment within a day, am I doing my best to love everyone I come into contact with? I think people in the SV are used to engaging with each other at an intellectual level or even at a very cordial manner. But, in a loving, proverbial arms wide open way? .. Now, that would draw some attention, wouldn't it? As a result of the message, I decided to spend more time investing in what looks on the surface to not be "spiritual", but I'm glad I'm going to do it because it brings me closer and more in sync with others in the Valley.
