Assistive Listening Device
An assistive listening device (ALD) is available in the main auditorium for worship services. An ALD can be used with or without hearing aids to overcome the negative effects of distance, background noise, or poor room acoustics. So even though you have a hearing aid, ALDs can offer greater ease of hearing (and therefore reduced stress and fatigue). To get started, see the sound technician at the back of the auditorium on a Sunday morning.
American Sign Language
Sign language is the only "visual language" in the world. But, it is not simply a translation from English, for it has its own grammar and idioms, etc. Volunteers learning ASL often offer limited interpretation for the 9:00am Sunday worship service.
Currently captioning via typing or CART displayed on a monitor is available in the Forum class which meets at 10:45 in the downstairs of the D-Building.
