- For the summer of 2012, the Young Adults Fellowship at Peninsula Bible Church will be looking at how God has made us to do something unique and creative with our lives. It is more than our jobs. It is more than our hobbies. It is more than our families. It is our place in the world. This is our calling.Our guides in this exploration will be several characters from the Bible. By looking at their stories and finding out how God called them, we will try to understand how God calls us. Each story is different, just as each of our stories is different. There is no formula. There is no simple solution. But as we see God calling others, we'll get a clearer picture of how God calls us.Summer YAF will start on June 28, 2012 with a kickoff and introduction to the summer series. On July 5, 2012, we will have our second annual Summer YAF Field Day. Each week during the summer we will eat a simple dinner together at 6:30 PM followed by our regular gathering at 7:15 PM.Recorded messages can be found on the YAF Library page.

Paul Taylor will start our series on calling by looking at Jesus himself. We will see how God called Jesus into his life's work and how following Jesus gives each of us a general sense of calling. -
3: Elijah
July 26, 20123: Elijah
Mark Verber will teach on the life and calling of Elijah. We will see how Elijah lost sight of his calling, how God compassionately restored it to him and how that can happen to us. -
5: Jeremiah
August 9, 20125: Jeremiah
Paul Taylor will teach on the prophet Jeremiah. His calling was given to him before he was even born. As we look at his life, we will see themes of deep suffering and loneliness in his calling. -
6: Moses
August 16, 20126: Moses
Janice Soderberg will teach us about the great leader of God's people: Moses. We will see how Moses approaches his calling with hesitancy, but fulfills it with the confident presence of God. -
7: Paul
August 23, 20127: Paul
Paul Taylor will teach us from the life of the apostle Paul. The apostle's calling is a dramatic story of conversion from one direction to another. From his story, we will see how God sometimes calls us to completely shift gears in life. -
8: John Mark
August 30, 20128: John Mark
Paul Taylor concludes our series by looking at John Mark. His calling shows us a story of failure redeemed. Through John Mark, we will realize that our fear of failure can easily cause us to miss our calling.
